Crochet Hexagon Rainbow Newborn Blanket

This lovely crochet Hexagon Rainbow Newborn Blanket pattern was given to me by one of our community members, Vicki Brandt.  This pattern could be used in many different color combinations to match any nursery.  I chose the rainbow theme because I was in need of a blanket for a Rainbow Baby at the time I was crocheting this one.

This blanket could easily be done with any yarn including your favorite self-striping yarn, such as Caron Cakes.  Just let the yarn flow and enjoy the design for a quick and easy blanket.

When you upload your project to The Crochet Crowd Stitch Social Group or Instagram, feel free to tag me so I can see what you have crocheted.  Follow me on Instagram @ jeannestein or on Facebook.  My designs can also be saved in your Ravelry favorites by following me HERE.

I am so happy that I found this pattern!! It’s perfect for my future godson...
I just have a quick question.

It says “dc in so before 1st dc” ...would that be still in that ch-2 sp? Same with “dc in sp after last dc”
I’m having trouble understanding where I would put that dc.
Thanks so much I’m advance!! I really appreciate it.

If I were to do this as a solid color or using self-striping yarn, how many yards/ozs did you use?

Sorry, but I don't have a good answer for this. I used partial skeins from another project and this was actually done April 2017 and I have given away the blanket, so I cannot even weigh it. But with that said, I would think it would be about the same yardage as any standard blanket as it's mostly just double crochet. So if you want it baby sized, 3 skeins or balls should be about right.
